This dog-safe version of Carrot Cake looks just like the real thing — and your pup will absolutely love it! Perfect for a special treat or a fun homemade meal. 🐾
🥩 Ingredients
- 1 cup (120g) whole wheat flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup (125g) unsweetened applesauce
- 1/4 cup (60ml) melted coconut oil
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup (110g) finely shredded carrots
🌿 Toppings & Garnish
- 1/2 cup (125g) plain, unsweetened Greek yogurt
- 1 tbsp finely chopped unsalted peanuts
- 1 small strawberry, sliced in half
- 1 tbsp finely shredded carrot for garnish
- Pinch of ground cinnamon for dusting
👨🍳 Preparation
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 6-inch round cake pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and cinnamon. In a separate bowl, mix the applesauce, coconut oil, and egg until well combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Gently fold in the 1 cup of shredded carrots.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool completely.
🍽️ Assembly & Serving
- Once cool, spread the Greek yogurt evenly over the top of the cake. Sprinkle with chopped peanuts, the extra shredded carrot, and a dusting of cinnamon. Place the strawberry half in the center.
